Tang Soo Do training – an evolution!

The Covid Pandemic disrupted so much of our Tang Soo Do training, but we are Martial Artists with indomitable spirit, strength and courage, there was no way we would be beaten, Scotland Tang Soo Do had to survive. We adapted our training; Zoom classes became the norm for many months, but this taught us that distance does not have to be an obstacle. We could still train together, albeit in a new and different virtual way. We hosted two Competitions, several coloured belt Gradings, and a Black Belt and Masters Pretest over Zoom. We even managed to conduct a Masters Grading using a hybrid solution with the candidates and some senior Master assessors in the Dojang and the remainder of the international panel over Zoom.

Thankfully the world started to open-up again, but unfortunately not for the Dojangs, so we evolved our training again, and started using open public spaces, with our favourite becoming the beach! The Pandemic has taught us a lot, as Martial Artists we have learned many lessons about what works and doesn’t work when forced to train in a different way, and we can happily move forward with this new knowledge and strengthen Scotland Tang Soo Do for the future.
