EMTF Open European Championships Hagen, Germany, 5th and 6th October 2024

A small team from Scotland Tang Soo Do travelled to Hagen, Germany for the European Tang Soo Do Championships held on the 5th and 6th of October 2024.

The coaching team consisted of Master Kelly Murphy 7th Dan from Inverness Tang Soo Do, Master Michelle Raisborough 5th Dan from Evolution Martial Arts based at Lossiemouth, Masters Dominique Stephen 5th Dan and Henry Stephen 4th Dan from DKMA based in Forres, Hopeman, Nairn & Grantown on Spey and Natasha Ogle 2nd Dan from Ryse in Elgin.

All the coaches praised the efforts of their team and were left feeling very proud of their students after a gruelling two days of competition. 

The team consisted of:

Inverness: Laura Stewart 3rd Dan, Jack Anderson 3rd Dan & Julie Anderson 1st Dan.

Lossiemouth: Ella MacGillivray Cho Dan Bo (Black Belt candidate).

Forres: Myles Wilson 2nd Dan, Sam Dunbar 1st Dan, Ronnie Ross 3rd Gup, Lottie Parkes  3rd Gup, Toby Searle 5th Gup.

Elgin: Tia Graham 4th Gup.

All performed extremely well in their categories and put on a fantastic display of Martial Arts. Master Kelly Murphy, head coach of team Scotland praised the students saying “We could not be prouder of our team, even the younger members performed brilliantly in some very tough categories. We return to Scotland with many happy faces and lots of European medals.”

Myles – 1st  Chil Sung Forms, 1st Bo Staff, 1st Sword 1st Open Weapons, Sparring, 2nd  Knife, 3rd  Hyungs, 3rd Team Forms – Grand Champion Bo Staff

Ronnie 1st  Hyungs, 1st Bo Staff, 1st Open Weapons – Grand Champion Forms

Sam – 1st  Bo Staff, 3rd Sparring

Lottie – 2nd Team Forms

Toby – 1st  Forms, 1st Bo Staff, 2nd Team Forms, 3rd Sparring – Grand Champion Forms

Elgin:

Tia- 1st  Bo Staff, 2nd Forms – Grand Champion Bo Staff
